Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

This is disgusting behavior of brazen-faced guys who neither feel shame nor know anything about ethics and morality.

The despicable moves of the Japanese reactionaries to write off their crime-woven past history through bribery are an unpardonable insult to the Asian people including the Korean people and the challenge to the human conscience.

The sexual slavery for Imperial Japanese Army is the thrice-cursed crime committed in the 20th century. It is the hideous crime against humanity unprecedented in the history of the imperialists' wars of aggression. Therefore, no statute of limitation is applicable to this crime. There should be only honest apology and reparation from the Japanese government.

A resolution on the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army was adopted at the U.S. House of Representatives. Even the street called Comfort Women Street was reported to appear in New York City. It is needless to say that this reflected humankind's will not to pardon such crime as sexual slavery.

This being a hard reality, the Japanese reactionaries are foolish enough to have a bargaining over history as mentioned above.

The suggestion made by Japanese diplomats for the removal of the monument turned down by the above-said mayor indicates that any move to tamper with history is intolerable at any place at present. The Japanese reactionaries are sadly mistaken if they calculate the world people would be taken in by the above-said cunning and childish method to write off the crime-woven history by bribery.

Sincere apology and reparation for their past crimes are not something for others but for the good of Japan.
