Paints, Not Harmful to Eco-environment
|

Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- The "Hyonmu"-trademarked paints are widely applied to painting vessels and maritime structures in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Resistant to erosion and pollution in sea water, the paints settle in a short time. They prevent heat oxidation in steel structures. The paints do not give adverse effect on eco-environment as they are made of natural minerals. Their advantages have been proven through sea-water tests and paintings on vessels and ground architectures from Juche 82 (1993) onward. The paints were developed on the basis of analysis of the materials believed to have been used in the mural painting "Hyonmu" dating back to Koguryo Kingdom (B.C. 277-A.D. 668). According to Dr. So Tok Sam, the paints won a gold medal at the 22nd Geneva Exhibition of International Inventions and New Technologies held in April 1994. The paints' maker is the Korean Hungsong Trading Company. |
