S. Korean Puppet Forces to Stage North-targeted War Drills

Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- The 65th Division of the south Korean puppet forces announced that it would stage 2012 Ssangryong exercises in the areas of Yangju, Tongduchon and Phaju of Kyonggi Province from May 16 to 18, according to Yonhap News of south Korea. Tactical air force, tanks and artillery pieces and other offensive weaponry and latest military equipment will be involved in the military drills aimed to help the standing forces and reserve troops perform their duties and increase the maneuverability of units under the simulated conditions of an actual war, etc. Ssangryong drills started in 1977 with its main objective to hurl reserve forces into forward operation theatres after reorganizing them to suit the battle conditions. After seizure of power the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors increased the duty of the reserve troops in such a way as to undertake more belligerent civil operations with main emphasis on establishing a rule over the occupied areas of the DPRK and has since conducted more offensive saber-rattling targeted against it. This clearly suggests the danger of Ssangryong drills in the light of the fact that civil operation was an important program whenever north-targeted large-scale war exercises such as Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military drills kicked off. |
