DPRK Makes Efforts for Development of Sports Science

Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is directing big efforts to the development of sports science with an eye to turning itself into a football and sports power. Such efforts can be seen in the 2nd national sports software exhibition held recently, at which 100 odd software pieces were displayed to show the scientific progress of the national sports based on IT. Drawing the attention of experts and amateurs at the exhibition were programs for game analysis in football, basketball and tennis events presented by the Sports Science Institute under the Academy of Sports Science. According to programmers, these programs based on dot automatic tracking technology by images have proved their advantages in the course of their introduction. Programs presented by Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, Wonsan University of Education and Pyongyang Sports Group, too, were highly appreciated for their contribution to the technical development of shooting and football events and selection and education of players. The first exhibition took place in Juche 100 (2011). |
