Golden Key and Sword, Gifts

| Pyongyang, May 23 (KNCA) -- On display at the International Friendship Exhibition House are a golden key and a sword, presented to general secretary Kim Jong Il by a Mongolian government delegation in the name of its government in November Juche 87 (1998). 1998 marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relation between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Mongolia. On the anniversary, the Mongolian government sent a delegation to Pyongyang with the gifts to the leader. Presentation letters are inscribed in the sheath and a blue-color handkerchief is hung to the hilt. The head of the delegation said the gifts represented the Mongolian government's willingness to further the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. |
