Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppet Seoul District Prosecutor's Office searched the Unified Progressive Party (UPP) on May 21, south Korean KBS and CBS reported. Prosecutors stormed the party building and confiscated all data including server and the list of party members citing "suspicious" fraud-marred election of proportional-representation lawmakers. The search went on till the dawn the following day. When the party side strongly protested the search, the prosecution authorities set in motion more than 400 policemen, creating a terror-ridden atmosphere. Meanwhile, the puppet Supreme Prosecutor's Office blustered that it would make an overall investigation into the party, saying that the party has reached the state that can no longer be left as it is. Enraged by this, the party members strongly protested the prosecution's reckless search outside the party building. They also protested against the search outside the puppet Supreme Prosecutor's Office on May 22. They branded the prosecution's confiscation of the party's internal documents as an explicit politically-motivated suppression. Calling the prosecution's recent search and confiscation a plot to turn the political situation in favor of the "Saenuri Party" ahead of the "presidential election", they strongly demanded an immediate stop to the politically-motivated suppression of the opposition party. The prosecution authorities threatened to walk away all the protestors, terming their protest an "organized one". |
