On the morning of that day 48 investigators of the Seoul District Prosecutor's Office and hundreds of policemen stormed the party building and searched three places including the server management office and the body which managed the election.

The UPP held a press conference outside the puppet Supreme Prosecutor's Office on May 22 in protest against the fascist prosecution's reckless action.

Speakers at the press conference vehemently condemned the above-said search operation as unprecedented violence in the history of the constitutional government as it trampled down upon the basic rights to political activities of parties.

The prosecution's forcible confiscation of the list of party members, in particular, was explicit politically-motivated suppression and a revelation of the sinister intention to shake the foundation of the progressive party, they stressed.

Intolerable is the prosecution's search operation, they stated, noting that this was a plot to split the opposition camp at any cost and eliminate the UPP by labeling it unjust group ahead of the "presidential election".
