Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- 18 civic and public organizations of south Korea including the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, Council of Students for Democracy and Independent Reunification, Family Movement for Realizing Democracy, Buddhist Peace Solidarity and Society of April Revolution held a press conference outside Chongwadae on May 23 at which they made public an appeal on the situation urging the authorities to roll back its hostile policy towards the DPRK. The appeal said that the south-north relations, which had headed for national reconciliation, cooperation, peace, reunification and prosperity, have been driven to catastrophe owing to the confrontation policy of the Lee Myung Bak regime. It is the ardent wish of the nation to defuse the danger of war prevailing on the Korean Peninsula and achieve reunification by implementing the south-north joint declarations, it said, and went on: It is the only way of weathering the present crisis and achieving peaceful reunification and national prosperity to fully implement the joint declarations. The Lee regime is hell bent on strengthening the alliance for war with the U.S. and Japan, disregarding the issue of national reunification. It is the task of the times for all the progressive forces to punish the Lee dictatorial regime and eliminate Park Geun Hye. Let us struggle to prevent the anti-reunification, undemocratic and unpopular regime from reappearing in this land, bearing in mind truth that unity leads to victory while split leads to ruin. Let us give vent to the anger pent up under five years of the tyrannical of the Lee regime and make 2012 a year of victory at any cost and vigorously usher in an era of peace and reunification. |
