Rodong Sinmun Accuses S. Korea's Saber-rattling

Pyongyang, May 28 (KCNA) -- South Korean warmongers staged madcap "Thaeguk" exercises from May 21 to 25 allegedly aimed at examining the capability to settle a crisis and conduct operations and increasing the capability to operate joint combat power under the simulated conditions of someone's "diverse threat of provocations". Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard: The warmongers claimed that the exercises were aimed to cope with the "threat of provocations from the north" on the ground and seas and in the air, but they can never conceal their provocative and aggressive nature, the commentary says, and continues: The warmongers conducted the above-said drills under the provocative codename of "River Amnok" from 1995 but they changed it into "Thaeguk" from 2005. This saber-rattling is designed to establish "combined operation system" for aggression with the U.S. Since Lee Myung Bak came to power, the aggressive nature of "Thaeguk" has been pronounced. Clear is the aim sought by the Lee group in stepping up the moves for a war, becoming more vociferous about "additional provocations" from someone than ever before. It is to shift the blame for the catastrophic situation on the Korean Peninsula onto the DPRK and steadily escalate the tension, backed by the U.S., and ignite a war against the north, while watching for a chance to do so. "Additional provocations" touted by the group is nothing but rhetoric to realize the criminal scenarios of the U.S. master dreaming of dominating Asia and those keen on invading the north. The Lee group is no more than a heinous nuclear war servant keen to bring the disaster of a fratricidal war, subservient to outside forces, utterly indifferent to the destiny of the nation. |
