Joint Struggle for Right to Existence Declared in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, May 31 (KCNA) -- More than 2,000 unionists of the Construction Trade Union and Freight Workers' Solidarity under the Confederation of Trade Unions of south Korea held a meeting in Youido, Seoul on May 29 and declared that they would stage a joint struggle to achieve the right to existence. The speakers said that the workers' real income is below the lowest living expenses. The business enterprises fall short of providing the workers with salaries, pushing them to the abyss of death, they deplored. The workers in the fields of construction and freight would launch a joint general strike against the "government" and capitalists, they said. |
