Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Ryanggang Province in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea finished appointing delegates to the celebrations of the 66th anniversary of the Korean Children's Union. Among the delegates are Min Hong Dan, a second-year student at Sodu Secondary School in Taehongdan County, and the triplets, Hwang Un Jong, Hwang Un Dok and Hwang Un Hye, second-year students at Phungsan Secondary School in Kim Hyong Gwon County. Min Hong Dan is a schoolgirl widely known in the country. In March 2000 when providing his field guidance to Taehongdan County, leader Kim Jong Il dropped in at the family of a discharged soldier, Min Won Sik, her father, to learn in detail about their living conditions. Asked to give a name to their unborn baby by Min's wife, the leader kindly said it would be desirable to name the soon-to-be-born baby Tae Hong, if it is a boy or Hong Dan, if it is a girl. Hong Dan grew up to be an exemplary member of the KCU under the warm care of the peerlessly great man. She has distinguished herself in study and KCU organizational life, and was awarded Kim Jong Il Children Honor Prize on the occasion of the auspicious Day of the Shining Star. A farmer, Hwang Chang Un (50), father of the triplets, told KCNA: "It seems to me like a dream that my daughters and son are to go to Pyongyang as KCU delegates to the significant celebrations. I will fully discharge my duty as an agricultural worker, always cherishing this benevolence in mind. My wife and I are determined to bring up our children into reliable pillars of Songun Korea, intensely loyal to the dear respected Kim Jong Un." |
