Taehung Youth Hero Mine
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- Employees of the Taehung Youth Hero Mine in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have been making big efforts to boost mineral output and further upgrade the quality of processed magnesia.

The mine, developed late in the 1980s, boasts of billions of tons of deposits, which account for over 25 percent of the world's magnesite deposits.

It makes various kinds of processed magnesia products, including magnesia clinker, high-quality magnesia clinker and light-burned magnesia, along with the mining of magnesite.

The application of a new open-air mining method paved the way to mining ores in large quantity. In particular, the mine established the system of producing magnesia clinker and light-burned magnesia by the locally available fuel. It also invented a new method to turn out second-stage processed light-burned magnesia.

Leader Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to the mine on several occasions, highly appreciating its employees for having succeeded in introducing the Juche-based production system of processed magnesia.

The mine is now striving to export high-quality magnesia products.
