This gift was presented to President Kim Il Sung on his 73rd birthday by Hokushu Company of Japan. The company made the sailboat's design by itself and invited a talented man to craft it.

The gift consists of semi-limpid brown sails, tightened ropes and a wooden prop redolent of rough sea, showing a boat sailing through raging waves. The mast and hull are made of wood and the canvases woven with baleens.
