Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- Wrangle between the ruling and opposition parties has recently become a social concern in south Korea over the issue of Park Geun Hye's involvement in the case of Pusan Savings Bank. At a time when there is growing furor over involvement of traitor Lee Myung Bak and the "Saenuri Party" (SP) in the above-said case, Pak Ji Won, chairman of the Emergency Measure Committee of the Democratic United Party (DUP), raised recently the suspicion that Park Geun Hye, chief of the "Saenuri Party", met several times with Pak Thae Gyu, backstage negotiator over the case. On her part, Pak Geun Hye blamed Pak Ji Won, asserting she knows nothing about him. The DUP said the false testimony made by the Park's side is nothing but a stopgap measure to tide over her ruling crisis, complaining her two confidants to the Seoul District Prosecutor's Office. As already known, the case is not a mere financial scandal of a private bank but a hideous scandal committed by those in power directly linked with the Lee Myung Bak group. According to the puppet prosecution's investigation, the group of Pusan Savings Bank accumulated a lot of illicit funds by making various speculations including the purchase of real estates with money deposited on the bank and distributed huge bribes among politicians, bureaucrats and judicial figures in a bid to hush up its scams. When the disclosure of its scandal forced the group to suspend its business, it let high-ranking officials, its old acquaintances, know about it in advance to take money back from the bank while making the money of majority of ordinary people in the area of Pusan seized, triggering off protest among inhabitants in the area. At that time bankers, finance supervising institutions, lawmakers in Pusan area, "government" officials and even heavyweights of Chongwadae were reported to have been involved in the case, putting at least 40 high-ranking officials under investigation. It was already disclosed that Lee Myung Bak's cousin-in-law was one of the chief culprits who spawned the scandal. This guy was reported to have expropriated hundreds of millions of won, while receiving requests from the bank to exercise influence on the relevant organ so that it might get rid of its crisis and put its business to normal. The suspected involvement in such hideous case is extended to the Park's side. There is no smoke without fire. Park Geun Hye and her clan experienced the charm of power is precisely that of money under the Lee Myung Bak's regime. It was none other than Park Geun Hye and her group that wallowed in luxury, engrossed in all sorts of scandals under the "yusin" dictatorship. Given the fact that Lee and Park are in the state of marriage for political reasons, Park's involvement in the case may be brought to light any time. |
