This historic battle was an attack on Pochonbo in Korea conducted in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. It was made on June 4, 1937, by the main unit of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army under the command of President Kim Il Sung.

The victorious battle encouraged the Korean people to turn out in the anti-Japanese struggle, giving the Korean people the confidence that Korea was not dead but still alive and they could surely win in the fight against the Japanese imperialists.

Seen in the stamp are letters "In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the victorious battle in Pochonbo" and "June 4, Juche 26 (1937)". It portrays anti-Japanese guerillas dashing toward the enemy's ruling agencies, including police substation.
