The bulletin said that the adoption of the joint declaration in Pyongyang, the first of its kind since the division of Korea, was an event to be specially recorded as it marked an occasion of landmark turn in the movement for Korea's reunification.

It stressed that the June 15 joint declaration is a cornerstone for developing the inter-Korean relations and a great programme for the reunification of Korea as it clarified the ideological basis, main principles and ways for achieving national reconciliation, unity and reunification.

The basic spirit of the joint declaration is to solve the issue of reunification by concerted efforts of the Koreans free from any outside interference, it noted.

The bulletin stressed that the international community hopes that the Korean nation would achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country without fail under the banner of the joint declaration.
