Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday dedicates an editorial to the 66th anniversary of the Korean Children's Union. The editorial says: The celebrations of the 66th anniversary of the KCU now under way serve as a grand festival demonstrating throughout the world the Workers' Party of Korea's noble outlook on the younger generation and offer a happy opportunity of showing the proud picture of the schoolchildren in the DPRK growing up with nothing to desire more in the world, blessed with illustrious leaders. Children of ordinary working people are now participating in the celebrations of the 66th anniversary of the KCU in Pyongyang as delegates. They are spending happy days, enjoying all privileges. Such grand and significant events are unprecedented in the history of the DPRK. The issue of bringing up the younger generation as successors to the revolutionary cause was successfully solved in the DPRK under the steersmanship of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, the editorial notes, and goes on: Kim Il Sung established the glorious tradition of the children's movement in the days of the anti-Japanese struggle. He founded the KCU on this basis and devoted himself to the rising generations all his life. The President's tradition of love for the younger generation was brought into full bloom in the era steered by Kim Jong Il. The epic on the noble love shown by them for the younger generation and future is now being successfully carried forward by the dear respected Kim Jong Un. Very deep is the trust of the party in the members of the KCU and very great is its expectation towards them. All the members of the KCU should fully prepare themselves as pillars of Songun Korea who steadfastly carry forward the revolutionary tradition started in Mt. Paektu, bearing deep in mind the oath they took before the banner of the KCU, the editorial concludes. |
