Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association issued a joint statement on May 23 in support of the answer given by a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry. The DPRK's satellite launch was totally aimed for peaceful purposes and opened to the world media and, therefore, there was no ground for the G-8 summit to take issue with it, the statement said, and went on: Many countries have launched satellites into space, not being called into question at the G-8 summit. Eight countries have launched satellites. Therefore, there is no justification for G-8 to pull up the DPRK over its nuclear deterrent. As the DPRK has already declared, it is hypocritical for the U.S. and other countries which had access to nuclear weapons and conducted nuclear tests to talk about the DPRK's nuclear tests. The hostile policy toward the DPRK pursued by the U.S. from before the Korean War compelled the DPRK to have access to nuclear deterrent. We will as ever positively support the stand of the DPRK to continue bolstering up its nuclear deterrent and take self-defensive step, it concluded. |
