Death Anniversary of Two Schoolgirls by U.S. Armored Car Marked

Pyongyang, June 9 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations and personages of different social standings of south Korea formed the "Preparatory Committee for Memorial Events to Mark 10 Years Since Death of Mi Son and Hyo Sun" and issued an article on June 4. They included the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, the Committee for Memorial Monument to Mi Son and Hyo Sun, the Federation of University Students in the 21st Century and the Solidarity for Democracy, People's Life, Peaceful Reunification and Sovereignty of south Korea.

The article said that 10 years have passed since two schoolgirls Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son were mercilessly killed by a U.S. armored car. It accused the "government" authorities of still failing to investigate the truth behind the thrice-cursed U.S. troops' crimes, punish the arch criminal and totally revise the shackling south Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement".

On the contrary, inequality of the south Korea-U.S. relations has become more pronounced and the peace of the Korean Peninsula is in a grave state, it deplored.

Still fresh in the memory of the people are those days when they held candlelight rallies against the U.S. to memorize the two slain schoolgirls, the article pointed out.

The preparatory committee declared that it would cherish the memory of the two schoolgirls through the events and wage more dynamic struggle to open a door to a new society for independence and peaceful reunification.
