Rodong Sinmun Discloses Moral Vulgarity Peculiar to Japan

Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Craftiness and impudence are indicative of moral vulgarity peculiar to Japan, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a bylined article. It goes on: As for the hideous crimes in which 200 000 Korean women were forced into sexual slavery, the Japanese reactionaries are describing it as "an act done by prostitutes of their own accord for money". It was Japan which supported state-sponsored prostitution for the occupation army. The Japanese ruling forces said that the base state-sponsored prostitution was aimed to "preserve the purity of the nation and guarantee the future after 100 years". But this was aimed to keep the political system of militarism and war means at the cost of reducing their women to be sexual slaves for the U.S. armed forces. The Japanese reactionaries are denying state responsibility for the sexual slavery and describing it as acts promoted by individuals and voluntary acts of prostitutes. Lurking behind this is their crafty calculation to hush up the crime of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army. A cross section of Japanese society ranging from politicians to media persons who should speak for justice and conscience has persistently denied Japan's past wrongdoings. This moral vulgarity peculiar to Japan is mainly attributable to society that is turning to the right and militaristic. It has become the ethics for Japan to praise chauvinism and militarization. It has buckled down to the begging diplomacy to have the monument to comfort women for Imperial Japanese Army withdrawn with a petty amount of money. How pitiful and dirty it is. Japan is making desperate efforts to cover up facts with money. Its poor gimmick reflects the vulgar way of thinking of an economic animal. The more Japan tries to distort and deny history of thrice-cursed crimes, the more monuments will be built in different parts of the world. With no gimmick can Japan ever cover up its blood-woven criminal past where souls with pent-up wrath still linger. |
