Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Committee of Nepal, the Nepalese Committee for Promotion of Reunification of Korea and the Nepalese Association for Supporting the Songun Politics issued a joint statement on June 5 to mark the 12th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. The adoption of the June 15 joint declaration opened a bright prospect for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, the statement said. It hoped that understanding and cooperation between the north and south of Korea would be promoted and the historic cause of national reunification, the national task, would be certainly achieved thanks to the sustained efforts of the Korean people under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un. It urged the south Korean authorities to sincerely implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, the programme for implementing it, and get tens of thousands of U.S. troops withdrawn from south Korean without delay. The south Korean authorities should pull down the concrete wall built by them in the area south of the Military Demarcation Line, stop at once all joint military exercises with the U.S. and thus enable all the Koreans to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country at an early date under the banner of "By our nation itself", it stressed. Garib Newaz, president of the Bangladesh People's League, in a statement on June 4 said that the June 15 joint declaration is a cornerstone for the development of the north-south relations and a great programme for Korea's reunification as it indicated a fundamental principle for achieving national reconciliation, cooperation, unity and reunification and the ways to do so. |
