The Juche Idea publicly recognized as an idea guiding the human cause of independence would be unthinkable without President Kim Il Sung, its founder, and Kim Jong Il.

Kim Jong Il in his work published on February 19, 1974 clarified that the revolutionary idea of Kim Il Sung is an integral system of ideas, theories and methods of Juche and solemnly declared the Juche idea as Kimilsungism, a new and original idea which can go only by the august name of Kim Il Sung.

Kim Jong Il made public the work "On the Juche Idea" on March 31, 1982, giving overall answers to the issues arising in independent development of progressive mankind, the paper noted, adding that the work evoked a lively response worldwide.
