Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- "Marathon Wishing for Reunification" took place in Jonju of North Jolla Province on June 10 under the sponsorship of the provincial headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration.

The event marked the 12th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration.

It brought together more than 2 500 people including members of civic and social bodies, citizens and school youth and children.

Speakers at the event said that south Korea is going along the road contrary to peace and reunification. They called for reversing it without delay.

Then the full text of the north-south joint declaration was read out.

The marathoners ran 6.15 km chanting "Forward for Peace! Forward for Reunification!" with the ardent desire for the country's reunification.
