Foreign Media Praise June 15 Joint Declaration as Milestone for Korea's Reunification

Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- Newspapers, radios and Internet websites of different countries observed the 12th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration between June 4 and 8. The Bangladeshi newspaper Natun Katha in an article titled "Historic milestone for Korea's reunification" said that the publication of the declaration marked a historic event that brought about a signal turn in the Korean nation's movement for reunification. The declaration is a landmark for Korea's reunification supported and admired by the world, the paper added. The Nepalese newspaper Arpan in an article titled "June 15 for reunification" noted that reflected in the words are the unshakable will of the Korean nation to achieve national reunification at any cost under the banner of the joint declaration. To aspire after the June 15 joint declaration precisely means reunification and to deny it means conflict and war, it stressed. Radio broadcastings of Cambodia elaborated on how the first north-south summit in the history of the nation's division was held in Pyongyang in June 2000 and the inter-Korean declaration was adopted by leader Kim Jong Il's plan for the country's reunification. The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea posted on its Internet website an article praising the exploits performed by Kim Jong Il for national reunification. |
