The editorial says:

The June 15 joint declaration serves as a banner for the country's reunification in the 21st century as it comprehensively deals with the idea and principles of the north-south agreements in the past period including the July 4 joint statement and developed them as required by the situation.

"By our nation itself," the main spirit of the declaration, is the patriotic idea indicating the road of national independence and great unity.

The publication of the June 15 joint declaration provided the compatriots with immortal guidelines for achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country at an early date by concerted efforts of the nation and the might of great unity.

More than a decade since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration was a period in which the vitality and validity of the declaration were clearly proved and all Koreans learned truth that the preservation and implementation of the declaration assure national reunification and a bright future of the nation.

All the compatriots, sympathetic with truth and justice of the idea of "By our nation itself," have dynamically spurred the advance of the movement for national reunification, while rejecting foreign aggressor forces' domination and interference with great national pride and self-respect and firm independent spirit.

An admirable era was opened to solve the issue of the country's reunification by the concerted efforts of Koreans at a time when the trait of giving priority and importance to the nation and the nation-first spirit were prevailing in the land of Korea.

There took place such eye-opening events that a breakthrough was made in the barrier of division and confrontation that has stood for more than half a century and the road of travel was opened in the sky, land and seas. The north and the south pooled their intention and efforts while bravely overcoming differences for meeting their common purpose.

The solidarity and unity among the pro-reunification movement organizations at home and abroad grew stronger, leading to the birth of the All-Korean Committee for Implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration, a nation-wide solidarity organization of the reunification movement, and remarkably increasing the driving force for the country's reunification.

Minju Joson editorially says that there still lie obstacles and difficulties in the way of the struggle to implement the June 15 joint declaration, but no force can break the nation's will for national reunification.
