Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- The Korean Central News Agency released a detailed report on Friday in connection with the appearance of a peculiar street of Korean style in the area of Mansudae where the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il stand. Standing in line in the street are the People's Theatre, skyscrapers and multi-storied apartment houses and various welfare and service facilities which fully meet the requirements of the Workers' Party of Korea's Juche-based idea of architectural beauty and the new century. They were put on the basis of formative art and unique parks were created. In hearty response to a grandiose blueprint for the construction of the capital city unrolled by Kim Jong Il, service personnel and people of the DPRK waged a high-pitched labor drive, completely removing the old traces of the area. They created such new Pyongyang speed and worked such miracle unprecedented in the history of construction as building the street of fashionable style in a matter of a year. It was the noble desire of Kim Jong Il to build Pyongyang into the capital of a thriving nation based on the revolutionary outlook on the leader. It was thanks to Kim Jong Il's idea of loving the country and its people that a grandiose design was worked out to build the street as a gift for the people in the run-up to the centenary of the birth of the President. Based on Kim Jong Il's noble outlook on the leader, the people and the younger generation, the construction of the street made rapid progress, opening up a new phase in the construction of streets in the new century, completely away from the existing mode of construction. Service personnel, builders and members of shock brigades succeeded in flattening the old street and building new sites for it in a matter of 20 odd days. They fully displayed the iron will that Korea does what it determined and a high-pitched drive was under way to turn anything impossible into possible. A theatre was successfully built to be a property of people and a monumental edifice in the era of Songun in the run-up to the centenary of the birth of the President. Along with public buildings hundreds of welfare and service facilities including the Children's Department Store, Haemaji Restaurant, Wedding Restaurant and a laundry made their appearances to match the modern style of the street. Every arrangement was made to operate them right after their completion. Foodstuffs, fittings and utensils were provided to them. A signal innovation was effected in greening the area in an effort to decorate the street in a peculiar manner. Monumental edifices that seem to cheer the statues of the President and Kim Jong Il, beautifully decorated vast parks and brightly lit skyscrapers and other buildings present an epic representation of the wise leadership of the peerlessly great men who opened a new history of the construction of the capital city and their profound love for the people. |
