The victory in the Pochonbo Battle is an unprecedented political and military feat performed by the Korean People's Revolutionary Army under the command of President Kim Il Sung, a gifted strategist and invincible and iron-willed commander, the statement said.

The advance of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army into the homeland in June 1937 was a military operation of great political significance, it noted, and continued:

At the end of the battle the President made a historic speech which instilled the conviction of victory into people and aroused them to the struggle to crush Japanese imperialism and liberate Korea.

Indeed, the flames which raged in Pochonbo was a bright beacon indicating the way of defeating Japanese imperialism and building a new world of the people free from exploitation and oppression in Korea and the victory in the battle was a great banner inspiring the world's oppressed people in their struggle for independence and sovereignty.

The torch brightly lit over Pochonbo 75 years ago is still burning in Songun Korea dynamically advancing along the road of the anti-imperialist struggle under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un, it concluded.
