Leader Kim Jong Il visited the province several times in a year despite snowstorm, strong wind and heavy rain during the Arduous March, forced march, projecting ordinary working people as creators of the heroic Kanggye Spirit who made a breakthrough in the march and making a new history of great change in the province.

Thanks to the great loving care shown by Kim Jong Il medium and small-sized power stations were built everywhere, double and triple cropping became a reality in the alpine areas in the northern part of the country and worksites and villages were facelifted.

Party members and other working people in the province turned out as one in the project for erecting the mosaic with boundless yearning for Kim Jong Il and completed it in a brief span of time through their intense loyalty and devoted efforts.

Its unveiling ceremony took place on Tuesday.
