Japanese Reactionaries' Wild Ambition for Overseas Expansion Assailed
|

Pyongyang, June 20 (KCNA) -- A three-day joint naval exercise was staged by the U.S., Japan and Australia in the waters southeast of Kyushu Island of Japan recently. Earlier, Japan held defence minister-level talks with Britain in Singapore at which both sides exchanged a memorandum on boosting the bilateral cooperation in defence. Minju Joson Wednesday says in a by-lined commentary in this regard: Japan, keen on joint action, cooperation and exchange with other countries in military field, is working hard to realize them. This is an extremely reckless move to turn Japan into a military giant and realize its wild ambition for overseas expansion. Japan is talkative about the "changed environment of security" and "new military threat" but this is, in the final analysis, nothing but sheer sophism intended to put the above-said move into practice and seek an opportunity of its overseas aggression. It is the sinister scenario of Japan to realize its wild ambition for overseas expansion and reinvasion while staging as many military activities overseas as it pleases through the exercise of the right to collective self-defence in the form of joint military drills. Japan may ignite a war of aggression any time. Still fresh in the memory of the international community are the serious wounds inflicted upon it by Japan's war of aggression in the past. It remains highly vigilant against Japan rushing headlong into the moves for the conversion of itself into a military giant and launch of overseas expansion while refusing to reflect on its past acts of aggression. Japan had better stop its rash acts, properly understanding the will of the international community not to allow the revival of militarism and reinvasion. |
