Revolutionary Opera "The Flower Girl" Acclaimed by Chinese Audience

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The revolutionary opera "The Flower Girl" was staged in Lanzhou City of Gansu Province, China, evoking lively response among audience. The performance was highly acclaimed by audience. The deputy mayor of the city had this to say: I watched an excellent performance. I was mesmerized by the Korean arts. The opera is high in its ideological value and artistry. The youngsters do not know well about the past when the people were subject to exploitation and oppression. I think the opera has a very high educational value. A Chinese citizen said he could not keep back tears while watching the opera. The acting of actors and actresses was so truthful that it was a reminder of the past when the people were subject to all sorts of maltreatment and contempt. A member of the doctoral institute of a college for agricultural vocation and technology in the city said that the opera provided an opportunity to know well that Korean arts are on a high level. The deputy managing director of a company managing the Gansu Grand Theater stressed that many art troupes gave performances at the grand theater but none of them has ever won such acclaim and cheers of audience as the revolutionary opera "The Flower Girl." |
