It is the unanimous desire and wish of the Korean nation to provide a turning phase for national reunification in significant 2012 marking the 40th anniversary of the July 4 joint declaration and the 5th anniversary of the October 4 declaration, practical programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration.

Now is the time for all Koreans who value their country and nation, desirous of national reunification, to turn out as one in the nationwide struggle to smash the challenge of anti-reunification forces and win back the June 15 era, said the appeal.

It called for creating an atmosphere of positively supporting and implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration throughout Korea and making the trend of the June 15 era of reunification prevail in the Korean peninsula again.

It is necessary to hold in check outsiders' interference and rackets for war and confrontation, bring about peace on the Korean Peninsula, shatter all sorts of anti-reunification moves and put into practice visits, exchange, dialogue and cooperation, it noted.

The appeal called for achieving wide-ranging solidarity and unity among the north, the south and overseas with the June 15 All-Korean Committee as the parent body.
