Moving into to New Flats Begins in Changjon Street of Pyongyang

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- Changjon Street has been built fashionably in the Mansudae area of Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. There are in the street edifices, skyscrapers and multi-storied apartment houses, public buildings and welfare and service centers. All of them were put on the basis of formative art and they are enclosed in a beautiful park. Leader Kim Jong Il initiated building the street in his lifetime in an aim to make Pyongyang City more magnificent, centered around Mansu Hill where the statue of President Kim Il Sung stands. He took measures for its smooth construction in a short period, ranging from its layout and labor forces to supply of building materials. The dear respected Kim Jong Un paid deep attention to building the Mansudae area on the highest level. He went to the construction site on several occasions, giving important instructions instrumental to making the street take on a new look as befitting the heart of the capital city. Prior to its completion, he paid visits to restaurants, a nursery, kindergarten and primary school and even went up to the 45th floor of an apartment building, in consideration of the residents' convenience. Moving to new houses in Changjon Street is now under way. |
