Saying that Chinese import of oil from Iran is legal, the spokesman noted that the Chinese government is resolutely opposed to such an act of imposing sanctions upon other country according to one's own law.

As China imports Iranian oil through a regular route to meet the demand for developing its economy, this violates neither the relevant resolution of the UN Security Council nor the interests of the international community, he said.
