The theater located in Changjon Street built along the bank of the Taedong River starting from Mansu Hill is put on a formative art.

Having a building area of more than 50 000 square meters and floor space of more than 11 500 square meters, the theatre is made of two storied basement and six floors above it.

It is equipped with a 1500-seater round theater that does not use microphones, and a 500-seater underground theater. It has all facilities for art creation, performances and audience ranging from ultra-modern stage fittings, rooms for practice and makeup to underground parking lot.

The Unhasu Orchestra gave a performance "Let Us Not Forget the Pledge Made to the Revolution" to mark the opening of the theater, a concert "Family of the General" on May Day and some other performances.
