DPRK's Important Day Marked Abroad

Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Events were held in different countries and by international organizations between June 5 and 23 to mark the 48th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Meetings, seminars, book and photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Russia, Mexico, Ethiopia, South Africa, Uganda, Indonesia, India, Nigeria and Malaysia and by the Secretariat of the Pan-African Movement and the Regional Development Office of the FIFA. Displayed at their venues were works of Kim Jong Il and books and photos of his feats. The general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico said that Kim Jong Il developed and enriched the Juche idea through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities and consolidated the unity and cohesion of the party in thinking and will as firm as a rock. By pursuing the original Songun politics, he wisely led the Korean people to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the country and build a thriving nation, the general secretary noted. The chairman of the Kampala City Committee of the Uganda National Resistance Movement said that prosperity of socialist Korea is a shining fruition of Kim Jong Il's Songun revolutionary leadership. He praised the undying feats of Kim Jong Il, who strengthened the WPK into an invincible party. The chief of a branch of the Ethiopian Youth Study Group of the Juche Idea noted that Kim Jong Il made sure that it was specified in the party rules that the WPK is the eternal party of President Kim Il Sung and a steady continuity is given to the tradition of unity and cohesion. The chairman of the Russian Youth Society for the Study of the Juche Idea praised the dear respected Kim Jong Un for carrying forward the ideas and cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. A message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar in Russia. Korean films shown included "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Party Founding Memorial Tower". |
