U.S. anti-DPRK Sanctions Are Bound to Go Bankrupt: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The U.S. decided on June 18 to extend one more year the economic sanctions on the DPRK that had been in force since 2008 banning the transaction of assets.

The U.S. claims that the extension was taken because the DPRK constantly escalated tensions. But it is just an extension of its hostile policy towards the DPRK and sophism to cover its sinister intention in every aspect, says Rodong Sinmun in a bylined article Tuesday. It continues:

The situation of the DPRK proves that the imperialists' policy of sanctions is anachronistic and it is bound to go bankrupt for its injustice.

No matter how desperately the U.S. tries to wield the stick of sanctions, an old means it used to employ when pressurizing other countries, it will prove futile.

The DPRK has never been frightened by such sanctions nor has it begged the U.S. to lift them.

The people of the DPRK have so far lived, being exposed to sanctions by the U.S. They are now vigorously advancing toward the day when they will lead the happiest life in the world in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance full of hope and great ambitions.

The army and people of the DPRK are united in single mind. The unity is the most powerful weapon in the world which even A-bomb can not break.

The U.S. can never dream of having such a powerful weapon.

The DPRK will keep to the path chosen by itself, not reading others' face no matter what they say.

It is preposterous for the U.S. to try to browbeat the people of the DPRK through such sanctions.
