He visited various places of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and the Chongjin Steel Works alive with the drive to boost rolled steel production and complete technological updating to acquaint himself with production there, its prospect and progress made in their modernization.

There took place a joint meeting of officials in the field of metal industry of the Cabinet and the province.

The meeting discussed measures to steadily boost the production at the Kim Chaek Iron Steel Complex, Musan Mining Complex, Chongjin Steel Works and Puryong Alloy Steel Works and ensure the indigenous production of custom-built equipment needed for the development of metal industry.

It also underscored the need to conduct all economic work in a responsible manner from the viewpoint of meeting the interests of the party, revolution and people. It, in particular, called for improving the organization and direction of production activity and supply of raw and other materials to the complexes in the field of metal industry.

He stressed the important role the metal industry in the province is playing in the efforts to carry out the last instructions of leader Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Kim Jong Un's plan for building an economic power and took relevant economic steps.

Meanwhile, he toured the construction site of the Orangchon Power Station and took measures for completing Phalhyang Dam Construction and Power Station No. 2 ahead of schedule.
