S. Korean Regime's Efforts to Invent Pretext for Invasion of DPRK under Fire
Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities are running reckless to invent a pretext to invade the DPRK.

This is illustrated by the joint live shell firing exercise staged on June 22 with a U.S. nuclear-powered carrier involved. It was the largest-ever drill since the end of the Korean War in an armistice. In the drill, south Korean fighters and U.S. gunships fired live shells on the flag of the DPRK.

In this regard, Minju Joson Wednesday observes in a bylined commentary:

The drill is a product of a black-hearted scheme to ignite an all-out war by securing a pretext to invade the DPRK.

The south Korean warmongers claimed that "the live shell firing at the flag was aimed to mark the territory of the enemy".

Their remarks clearly prove that the drill was aimed to strike the DPRK.

The group of traitors made no scruple of committing such a hideous provocation as hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK, and has put spurs to the moves to unleash a war against the DPRK, far from making an apology for rubbing salt into wound of compatriots who were grieving over the loss of the father of the nation.

They went the lengths of letting the Japanese "Self-Defense Forces" take part in the drills against the DPRK in order to tighten the military nexus with the Japanese reactionaries, the sworn enemy of the Korean nation.

What is worse is that the group openly announced the plan to purchase military hardware from the U.S. to sweep mines in the areas of the DPRK along the Military Demarcation Line as an attempt to clear ways to the DPRK in case of contingency.

Finding themselves in a tight corner, they are making every possible effort to seek a way out of crisis in igniting a war against the DPRK.

This, however, is just a daydream.
