It was reported shortly ago that the U.S. forces in south Korea cancelled the plan to transfer their artillery unit from Tongduchon and informed south Korea of their proposal to keep it there and that the latter is set to accept it.

In this connection the assembly in a statement demanded the U.S. side pull back the unit and totally return the U.S. military bases to south Korea.

That day members of the assembly paid protest visits to Chongwadae and the office of the "prime minister" to thrust the statement to them.

Then they staged a demonstration outside the building of the "Ministry of Defense", demanding the cancellation of the U.S. forces' unilateral proposal.
