He learnt in detail about the construction of pits, coal and ore production, the modernization of transport and dressing processes and mechanization of mining operations, etc. at the Soksong Coal Mine, the Sangnong Mine and Toksong Mine.

Consultative meetings of officials concerned were held at the relevant units. The meetings took steps for giving precedence to tunneling, earth removal and construction of pits and increasing the rate of use of indigenously produced parts of machines and equipment and increasing the railway freight turnover.
