The Kuwaiti paper Al-Ray on June 19 said that Korea's reunification is, in essence, an issue of taking back half of its land from the domination of foreign forces and establishing the national sovereignty throughout Korea. The paper went on:

National independence is an aim and, at the same time, the fundamental principle for resolving the issue of Korea's reunification.

When the north and the south respect and implement the idea of "By our nation itself" clarified in the June 15 joint declaration in 2000 and October 4 declaration in 2007, Korea's national reunification is sure to be achieved.

The international community should extend full support and solidarity to the Korean nation determined to reunify the country under the banner of national independence.

The Brazilian paper Hora do Povo on June 20 introduced the efforts of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to implement the north-south joint declaration.

The paper exposed the crimes the south Korean regime committed by seeking confrontation against the DPRK and the national reunification, while scrapping all the agreements in the June 15 era and striking down the valuable achievements common to the nation.
