The organization recalled that Lee talked such nonsense at a press conference with local and foreign reporters on the same day that Japan should "take humanitarian steps" for those who were forced to serve as comfort women for the Imperial Japanese Army, "if hard to take legal ones" for them.

The issue of the comfort women must be legally settled under any circumstances as it was an inhumane war crime committed by the state power of Japan, it held.

"We cannot but question Lee what was his real intention of talking about 'humanitarian settlement instead of a legal one'", the organization protested.
