Present there were officials of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification and other people. Present there on invitation were the DPRK ambassador and other embassy officials in Havana.

Speeches were made at the ceremony.

Juan Jose Leon Vega, first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, said:

On June 25, 1950 the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet regime ignited a war against the DPRK. The army and people of the DPRK honorably defended the country by giving full play to heroic self-sacrificing spirit and bravery under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung. The U.S. imperialists and their followers suffered disgraceful defeat in the Korean war and signed the Armistice Agreement on July 27, 1953. The myth of their "mightiness" was shattered to smithereens.

Cuba and the DPRK are struggling hand in hand in the anti-imperialist front. The U.S. imperialists can never break the will of the peoples of the two countries.
