President Kim Il Sung Remembered in Foreign Countries
Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- Events were held in various countries to mark the 18th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung.

They included meetings for remembering him in Myanmar and Romania and a seminar on his feats in Nigeria on June 27 and 28.

Aung Thein Lynn, member of the Central Executive Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar, said Kim Il Sung will always be remembered by the Korean people and the world progressives for his great feats for the country's prosperity and people's happiness and global independence.

The president developed the Workers' Party of Korea into a force guiding socialism, deeply rooted among the popular masses and strictly based on them, he said.

The President's feats and idea on party building were successfully carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il, he said.

Vasile Orleanu, chairman of the Supreme Council of the Socialist Party of Romania, praised Kim Il Sung as an outstanding statesman who devoted all his life to the people's freedom and happiness, the country's reunification and victory of global independence.

Though Kim Il Sung passed away, the Korean people highly praise and revere him as the great father of the nation, eternal President of the DPRK and the shining sun, he said, adding the dear respected Kim Jong Un inherited the idea and cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and is wisely leading the Korean people's effort for the building of a thriving nation.

Aba Sadik Abubakr, chairman of the Nigerian Group for the Study of the Juche Philosophy, said Kim Il Sung glorified the 20th century as a century of the cause of independence against imperialism and socialist cause.
