Japanese Defense Minister's War Drumbeats Slammed by Minju Joson

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- New Japanese Defense Minister Morimoto made bellicose remarks at a meeting of the Foreign Relations and Defense Committee of the House of Councilors. He said that Japan needs to acquire the capability to attack enemy bases to prevent ballistic missile "attack" by other countries. He also said that to attack enemy bases comes within the scope of "self-defense" in the light of international law and the interpretation of the Japan Constitution. Minju Joson Wednesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard: These reckless remarks which his predecessors dared not to let loose were made without hesitation by a guy who was a mere scholar. But lurking behind his outbursts was a sinister aim. By echoing the voices of Japanese politicians he sought to repay the trust they reposed in him and win popularity, the commentary says, and goes on: The theory on "having access to the capability to attack enemy bases" is, in essence, aimed to get capability to mount a preemptive attack and, furthermore, turn the country into a war state. It is the biggest focal point of the Japanese political circles to have access to the capability to make a preemptive attack on other countries and gain the right of belligerency, the right to participate in a war and the right to collective self-defense. Japan is rushing headlong into undisguised nuclear weaponization after abandoning even the "three non-nuclear principles." Japan was unable to breathe a big breath even once for its past war crimes, only frequenting an alley. Now it went the lengths of trying to sponsor even a joint international military exercise. Japan's only target is the DPRK. It is the scenario of Japan to make its first step forward in its militarist overseas aggression by mounting a preemptive attack on the DPRK. Those who are very sensitive of this tendency of the Japanese political circles are getting desperate to satisfy their political greed. Their heavyweights are appointing anyone they deem helpful to their policy of militarist overseas expansion. The peace-loving people of the world should decisively foil Japan's moves for turning itself into a military giant and launching overseas expansion. |
