At the seminar speeches were made under various titles including "On thoroughly adhering to and implementing the Three Principles of National Reunification and the north-south joint declaration", "July 4 Joint Statement and practical tasks in June 15 era" and "July 4 Joint Statement and tasks for anti-imperialist struggle in present phase".

The speakers said the July 4 Joint Statement serves as a grand program for reunification common to the nation the keynote of which is the issue of reunifying the country on the principles of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity, free from outside interference.

The Three Principles of National Reunification, solemnly made public at home and abroad through the July 4 Joint Statement, are a principal way for settling the issue of reunification by the Korean nation itself and an action program for the unity of the entire nation, they said.

The Three Principles of National Reunification were reaffirmed by the historic Pyongyang meeting and the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, demonstrating their validity, vitality, truth and attraction, they noted.

The only way for independent reunification lies in thoroughly preserving and implementing the Three Principles of National Reunification and the north-south declarations, they said. Therefore, all the compatriots should turn out as one to carry them out.

A joint resolution was adopted at the seminar.

All the theories inciting confrontation against reunification while negating the national reconciliation and reunification should be thoroughly smashed so that all sorts of confrontation measures should never be taken any more, it said.

It called for dealing a decisive defeat to the anti-reunification conservative forces who seek stay in power through the great national unity.

The resolution called on the organizations of various social strata in the north, south and abroad to turn out in the struggle to make a breakthrough to reunification, on the basis of the Three Principles of National Reunification and the north-south joint declaration.
