Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the royal palace of Cambodia Kong Sam Ol was elected chairman of the preparatory committee at an instruction of King Samdech Norodom Sihamoni.

The committee decided to fix the period from July 2 to 15 as a period of remembering Kim Il Sung, give wide media publicity to the great exploits performed by Kim Il Sung for the Korean revolution, the cause of global independence and the development of the friendly relations with Cambodia and organize colorful political and cultural events.
