The statement fully supported the righteous action of Ro Su Hui, who visited Pyongyang to take part in the commemorations of the 100th day since the demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and went back to south Korea via Panmunjom.

It expressed indignation over the action of the Lee Myung Bak "government" which arrested Ro Su Hui on charges of violation of "Security Law" (SL) immediately after his return to south Korea and committed fascist suppression on the Pomminryon South Headquarters.

His condolatory visit was an expression of the traditional beautiful manners and customs of the Korean nation of taking great account of etiquette, and a decision to put back on track the south-north relations that had severed since Lee came to the power, it said, and went on:

If the Lee "government" expressed condolences over the great loss to the nation and allowed non-governmental organizations' condolatory visits in the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration, a golden opportunity would have been made to remove the tension and conflicts, rebuild trust between the south and the north of Korea and lay a springboard for peace and prosperity of the nation.

But the Lee "government" turned down this requirement of the nation.

As a consequence, Ro paid a condolence visit, a righteous action for the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration, which showed the will of all compatriots to advance toward independence, peace and reunification despite of any oppression and obstruction.

In case the Lee conservative forces kick up the racket of confrontation and commit fascist suppression by charging Ro in violation of "Security Law", they would certainly be judged by history.

The history will clearly remember which road led to patriotism and which one to treachery.

Ro covered the road of patriotism alone this time. But hundreds of thousands of people will follow in his footsteps to break down the barrier of confrontation and bring into full bloom the flower of the June 15 independent reunification.

The Lee "government" trying to prolong his waning political life with all kinds of corruption and misrule should stop crackdown upon the pro-reunification movement and release arrested pro-reunification champions including Ro Su Hui at once.

We will certainly usher in a new phase of independent reunification under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself" in the spirit of Pomminryon.
