The people are looking back with deep emotion on the undying feats he performed for the sacred cause of national reunification.

On July 4, Juche 61 (1972) the July 4 joint statement was solemnly proclaimed at home and abroad. Its keynote was the three principles of national reunification --independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity.

This was a historic event as the north and the south agreed for the first time on the principle of reunification, a shining fruition of the President's ardent patriotism.

The nation's reunification movement at last greeted a turning point from which to advance based on the three principles.

Despite twists and setbacks, the north and the south have steadily intensified multi-faceted dialogue, cooperation, reconciliation and cooperation since then.

The past decades and annals are recorded with the undying reunification leadership feats of the President who initiated the 10-point programme for the great unity of the entire nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo based on the three principles, a cornerstone of national reunification.

It was thanks to his guidance that the three charters for national reunification, which indicate the orientation and ways for building the driving force of reunification and the appearance of a unified country and ways for carrying them out, was provided.

On the New Year's Day in 1994, the year of his death, the President delivered New Year address in which he called for leaving the future generation with a reunified country.

On July 7 the same year he worked busy getting prepared for the north-south summit. That day he stayed up all night and completed a document on the first page of which he left his sign "Kim Il Sung July 7, 1994."

But nobody knew that it would be his last sign.

His last sign reflects his great world incomparable with thousands of monuments.

This noble sign associated with the undying feats he performed with total dedication all his life became further shining as great Songun commander Kim Jong Il signed the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

On April 15 this year the great Kim Jong Un declared that he would hold hands with anyone who sincerely wishes for the country's reunification and stands for its peace and prosperity. Not only the Koreans but the world people heard this which echoed through like his pledge.

The Koreans in the north and the south and abroad will convey down through generations the noble patriotic intentions of the President and his undying leadership feats for reunification.
