Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- Gomes, ex-president of Portugal, admitted that President Kim Il Sung was a great man who moved the world's people with his benevolence. Kim Il Sung was the great sun as he gave vitality to all people with benevolent love. He treated anyone as friendly as his comrades and brothers and sisters, regardless of his official post. Fascinated by his humanity, magnanimity and generosity, many people turned to be his friends and disciples. When meeting Gomes staying in the DPRK in July Juche 70 (1981), Kim Il Sung said he felt seeing an old friend and appreciated his contribution to the friendship between the two countries. Gomes came to Pyongyang again next year, and the President kindly invited him to visit the DPRK often as his close friend, encouraging him to work together for the sake of the people and for independence of Europe and the developing nations. In September 1991, the President entertained to a party Gomes and other foreign dignitaries who attended an event for supporting Korea's reunification. At the party he urged them to take cuisines, jokingly telling them about the origin of dishes. His personality instantly gripped them by heart. Many world dignitaries praised Kim Il Sung as the peerlessly great person attracting all people. Among them were Francois Mitterrand, ex-president of France, Wilfred Burchett, a journalist and writer of Australia, and Candellaria, a Cuban woman lawyer. |
